Initiator of this course is Drs. Gerry van Oossanen, a scientist specialized in the locomotion of the horse. Before her move to France in 2016 she had a rehabilitation centre for horse and rider in Dwingeloo, The Netherlands.
She graduated on the triangle horse-saddle-rider at the Utrecht University, The Netherlands. Her specialities are back, neck and nerve problems in the horse. In her practise she saw a lot of horses with severe back problems caused by ill fitting saddles.
Especially on reflocking and rebalancing a saddle there was an extreme lack of knowledge and skills, which often resulted in a damaged horse back. Gerry developed a special compact saddlery course for saddle fitters.
